A perfectionist, with great love for detail and subtleties, Pranesh believes that often good ambience can bring in that much needed “break out” from routine. But, having lived in Nanganallur for decades now, he often wondered about the dearth of new cuisines in the locality, that predominantly served South Indian cuisine. In order to bring in new cuisines for people to experience, and open up more avenues of novelty cafes, the idea of starting this cafe was his brainchild. He went ahead and made 80 Degrees East, quite literally as well, his first food destination as well.
Apart from a marathon of laughters, Aswini is a riot of ideas, concepts and loads of practical strategies. Her fresh perspective and willingness to experiment gives the cafe it’s unique identity. And her love for food combined with her entrepreneurial streak keeps 80 Degrees East running at the tempo it has been set to. Switching from vendor management, to food quality, stock management, finances, menu updation and a zillion other things – she and her laptop are on top of all of them. And both never run out of charge. She is indeed the livewire.
